This is my most favorite sub-machine gun. The AK-47 was developed by the Soviet Union and is gas operated. It takes a "box" magazine with 30-40 rounds in it. As powerful as it is, it is not used by the United States. It is very popular due to its power, low cost, and easy use.
I've seen the AK-47 in varieus forms of repair during my tour in Afghaistan; peices missing, parts falling off, but still will fire when the trigger is pulled. A very Robust weapon. There good till about 2oo meters, beyond that the accuracy is out to lunch.
ReplyDeleteHistorical point to note; as the Russians fended off the German forces they where capturing the Walter weapon mill and copied the MP 44. Both Countries were to imageitive MP-44, AK-47, nubers were the year.
