This is my most favorite sub-machine gun. The AK-47 was developed by the Soviet Union and is gas operated. It takes a "box" magazine with 30-40 rounds in it. As powerful as it is, it is not used by the United States. It is very popular due to its power, low cost, and easy use.

Thompson Sub-Machine Gun
Next up is the Thompson, or "Tommy" Sub-Machine gun. You have probably heard the name. It started production in 1921 and over approximately 1,700,000 have been built. It has 2 different types of clips. It has a "stick" clip, and the more popular "drum" clip. The stick clips have 20-30 rounds. The drum clips have 50-100 rounds. It was one of the most favored guns of World War 2.
